Delta Denal Dentist
Making Dental Services Affordable
The cost of dental care is the leading reason given by patients for avoiding their regular dental checkups. At the Jacksonville dental office of Sol G. Brotman, DDS, MAGD, we do our utmost to provide affordable treatment options for all of our patients, but maybe more importantly, we are dedicated to clarity and accuracy in treatment pricing. To help our patients offset the cost of dentistry services, we process and file dental insurance claims for some of the major insurers in the area. We also offer in-network coverage for many PPO insurance providers, including Delta Dental. If your family is covered by Delta Dental or any other PPO plans, please let us know when you call to schedule your first appointment. We’ll be happy to answer your questions, review your coverage, and partner with you to maximize your benefits starting with your very first visit to our dental office.
How do Delta Dental Plans Work?
Delta Dental plans, like other PPO insurance policies, provide coverage for a percentage of the cost of dentistry services in exchange the payment of monthly premiums. Delta Dental pays a percentage of the cost of your dental care up to a set average price per service. They will also cap coverage with an annual maximum that usually falls between $1000 and $1500.
What Does My Delta Dental Plan Cover?
You and/or your employer will be able to choose from a number of plan and policy options, so before we give exact coverage estimates, we need to review your individual benefit agreement. However, most Delta Dental policies cover some combination of the following treatments:
- Preventive dentistry 80 to 100% covered
- Restorative dentistry 50 to 80% covered
- Orthodontics (when elected) 20 to 70% covered
What Can I Do to Maximize My Benefits?
The simplest way to make the most of your Delta Dental plan is to keep up with your preventive dentistry services to maintain your healthy smile. These treatments receive the greatest percentage of insurance coverage, and they help you to minimize your risk for more advanced restorative treatments that receive lower coverage percentages.
Do I Need to Visit an In-Network Dentist?
If you have Delta Dental coverage, you are free to choose almost any dental office for your necessary care while still receiving coverage. However, there are numerous benefits to choosing an in-network dental office, including the following:
- In-network dentists have good relationships with your insurer. This means they often know what treatments are covered and can answer benefit questions more quickly and accurately.
- A dental office that’s in-network with your insurer knows the maximum treatment cost that will be paid by your provider. That means they keep their pricing within this range, and you’ll only ever need to pay the out of pocket percentage of treatment costs.
- Your dentist will likely be able to receive coverage preapproval or preauthorization for advanced treatments more quickly than out of network dental offices.
- You won’t have any stress worrying about whether or not your treatment is covered and if you’ll need to pay additional fees.
